I'm thinking that's my next "phase." LOL :) and using Negfix8 and ImageMagic. I think many have been where I'm at in this and gave up and went to raw. I'm working on seeing if Vuescan can be setup to output something consistent other then raw. Pretty powerful tools to have (raw scan, Negfix8, ImageMagic) that can be run together with a single command of a batch file name like say "soft_focus" or "HDR it" and have all your files in a directory be processed and converted to whatever format and size you want. There's no rush, it's not urgent, but be nice to get to the bottom of it as I might use this technique again in the future No problem with sending a tif to you, I can email it if you flickrmail me an address or maybe upload it to skydrive Sorry I should have included this information in my OP. In this particular case I've (unusually) scanned a whole strip of 35mm including the sprocket holes. The scans are made as 16-bit greyscale, "raw", using Vuescan9. Hi, the message you have quoted can be displayed when the red channel is clipped. (that's why I need JaZ99wro to see this!) but I can't read code to save my life these days, and the intricacies of what the script is passing to IM are beyond me :( Hehehe that's all true Hannu and I have all sorts of tools for comparing text files. Hannu_E_K edited this topic 120 months ago. tells all the options you have, in terse language. Which will show you the files side by side so that you may compare lines. With Linux, or even installed you have the option to check the differences of text files by _loupe, are you using a Linux or a Windows computer? That uses ImageMagick (batch/command line tools for image manipulation) Negfix8 is a bash script (a text file interpreted by "bash" a software package) Photographs 2007-2016 edited this topic 120 months ago. I have been using negfix8 for quite a long time now But I can manage to make a scan and use the command you used and see if I get the same error.Ĭircles_of_Confusions☯ edited this topic 120 months ago.Īgain thanks for your enthusiasm and interest, but my post is aimed at catching the developer's attention. Sorry, I'm not up on how to use these yet. Just need to know the scan settings and the command you used with Negfix8. I can try to recreate the problem using one of my own files. I downloaded Negfix8.3 and ImageMagick Q16 (64bit dll) for windows, tested and working. I did some looking and was wondering what your command line statement looks like that works on the older version and not on the newer one? Also, what version of ImageMagick and are you on linux, mac, or pc? Could be a function has been changed and so scripts need updated to not use or use a different command now? I did read something similar a while back that 8.2 was preferred to 8.3 after someone tried it and had issues with how it handled images differently by not outputting the same level of brightness as 8.2 for the script they had in place. However if I use negfix8 version 1.2 they are inverted ok & without error I made some scans this afternoon of 35mm film using a G4050 with Vuescan9 (as 16bit raw to process them with negfix8 version 1.3 I get "Cannot create the average frame profile"
